Sound Critique Feedback

The piece sounds harsh and very digital (both very good things in my opinion, especially when so self referential to the medium), and the work sounds like it was processed at a very low bit rate which produces a cacophonous sound structure. Because of the droning, one note, the space seems static and plain, and when the object is introduced at 00:48, it seems to be more of an intrusion into the this static environment. I did not enjoy the fade out at 1:30, and all of the sounds post-fade sound like a mere afterthought disconnected from the droning note which held the piece together up until that point.

The space seems to be large. I do not sense much movement in the space. I feel like the observation is done by looking around rather than actually moving around. The object encounter happens at 47 and the object seems sharp and harsh. I do not think the ending seems to fit in with the rest of the piece.

Very electronic sounding, very futuristic. The monotonous tone made changes more apparent which was a nice way to introduce objects. The object appeared at ;14, ;45 and 1;52. The first seemed rather small compared to the others. The last two objects seemed large and electronic; maybe spaceships? The ending was rather abrupt.

Very surreal space, suggests very colorful almost hypnotizing :49 sec first object, very loud and abrupt... after whistle. The transition is interesting as it very short. The sound trailing off into nothing so early then to encount another object at 1:58 then abrupt ending maybe not my first choice but does leave with a sense of peril

This doesn't sound like a physical space as much as a mental one. The drone seems like it could be peaceful, but it's a very unsettling place. The pans drag me around in an uneasy way. The object at :47 disrupts the drone but only adds to the discomfort. It reminds me of an accident, as if I'm being thrown by the force of the drone. The panning is very circular, movement very fluid, except for the chaos of the wreckage sounds. Again at 1:51, the chaos is back. I don't really like this addition of this chaos again at the end. It seems too unexpected and detracts from the original shock at :47. This definitely feels like an imaginary space, something I've never encountered.

The Space that is seems to be small and things being moving around. The object en contour is immediately at the beginning with the repetition, and last for a while and it fades in the last part. The object is vibrant and slow. irregularities 2:02. Engaging :48s, :39s.

The space seems narrow, and has limited lighting source from specific direction. The continuous eletronic sound gives a feeling that there is a source of energy or power generator. Something aggressive breaks in at 50s and movement begins. Standing, defending, and enduring the violent invasion, even the space starts to collapse at around 1:50. However, even everthing's breaking down and getting massy, there is always a constant eletronic sound at the background. That's the most engaging part.

This piece didn't give me much sense of movement. It felt like being trapped in a frightening prison instead. The listener is suspended in a round space, and the room seems to spin, making a sickly feel. Nearing 1 minute, and again later, there is a frightening, crashing sound that is very sudden and loud. The whistle leading up to the crash had a cool effect that mixes a more pleasant noise with a startling noise. Another effect i wanted to note was the crashing noise right at the end, when it shifts down. It sounded like a harmony.

The space felt like it was a room made of metal that the listener was standing in. The object approached first at 18s, then at 47s and one more time after the fade of the metallic noise. The object seems threatening and attacking. One interesting part of the piece was at 47s as the object was introduced a second time, and the whistling introduced it.

I felt as though I was in a large space and the created rhythm propelled me around. Object encounters at :20;00, :50;00, 01:56;00 - and each encounter seemed unique. Distant flashes to loud/physical crashes. Each encounter was quick and moved away from (not explored).
Engaging:
The droning rhythm starts to change roles from monotonous to safe and ebbing.
