DASS Transfer, Plexi Glass on Wooden Frame
I wanted to create an image the integrated the modern day
‘anime’ (Asian animation), with traditional Korean radial-pattern-designs. The
goal was to create an image that somehow appears beautiful but disturbing at
the same time. In order to create such emotions, I used cute images (such as
the anime girl or the roses) but used dark reds and blues for most of the
image. Additionally, by placing 3 purple roses, a symbol of deep love, in dark surroundings,
I try to reinforce a sense of ‘wrong’ within an aesthetically pleasing image.
